INSPIRATION AND BEAUTY IS EVERYWHERE
It was early fall and I had just launched my business. It was a transition period for me, and with the change I was feeling a little unsure of myself and unaware of the next steps in my journey. At the time I was feeling afraid to be myself, speak my truth, and share my gifts.
One afternoon my sister invited me over to spend time with her and my two-year-old niece Sienna. It was a heavenly day sunny, warm with a light breeze, so we decided to stay outside and play in the backyard. Sienna ran around the yard and I ran after chasing her. Suddenly she stopped and picked up something in the grass and handed it to me as if it were a gift. I opened my hands and looked down to see a beautiful bird’s feather, black with blue stripes and a white tip. The fact that my niece handed this feather to me made it that much more special. It added sentimental value. I decided to keep it and cherish it forever.
A few days later my friend invited me to her house to take a walk through her suburban neighborhood. I drove down to her house and parked in her driveway, and we began to walk. My friend packed a backpack with water and packaged nuts. We walked for several miles and talked, and then my friend stopped to take a drink of water. I looked down at my feet and saw another feather nearly identical to the feather my niece had gifted me a few days earlier. It was magnificent and magical unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! In shock of finding the same exact feather twice in one week I decided I had to keep this one too.
I probably should have played the lottery. I mean, what are the chances of finding the same exact kind of feather twice in one week? Lol. This definitely was a synchronicity. Feeling intrigued, I looked it up online to find that these feathers belonged to the Blue Jay.
The indigenous people or Native Americans believe that each human being has as a spiritual connection to another physical being (e.g. plant or animal.) In certain spiritual traditions or cultures, a spirit animal refers to a spirit which helps guide or protect a person on a journey and whose characteristics that person shares or embodies. They also believe in each animal representing a symbolic spiritual message.
After doing some research I found out these feathers had previously belonged to the ROYAL Blue Jay.
I also found a symbolic spiritual meaning that accompanies the Blue Jay feathers. “The Blue Jay does not hesitate to go after what it desires, it beams of assertiveness and aggression, knowing the scope of its own powers and wit. Personal message: An exciting new venture awaits you, go forth and capture it with passion and authority. Move forward in your devout passion, while also mastering your mind. Even if others are threatened by your intensity or fervent zeal, you’ll be the one who makes progress.”
This message really resonated with me and gave me the push I needed to move forward. This was a message from God and the universe verifying that I was indeed on the right path. I feel so lucky to have received this message. I urge you to pay attention to animals that you continuously see or feel drawn to. Inspiration and beauty is everywhere but we need to open our eyes to see it.
