STOP OVER-ANALYZING

Why do you try to understand art? Do you try to understand the song of a bird? -Pablo Picasso

I recently read a quote which stated that the moment a child starts to identify the birds, he no longer fully appreciates the beauty of their song.

This quote touched my heart and my soul. Maybe it’s because it’s so damn relatable. I must confess, I am guilty as charged! Ha! A few years ago, I was hiking with a friend when we heard a lovely bird’s song. Before I could comment my friend said “Wow, did you hear that owl?” I don’t mean to be a bird snob, but the sound was definitely a mourning dove. Please blame it on my Grandmother’s singing bird clock! LOL.

I have always enjoyed learning new things and my thirst for knowledge is never truly satisfied. I also tend to invest a lot of pride in my intellectual capacities. I get excited seeing how information affects people’s lives, and I take great pleasure in learning that something I have shared or taught has inspired others to take action.

According to psychologyandi.com, highly intelligent people are more likely to over-think things. Over-thinking not only kills happiness but it also pulls us away from the present moment. When we are in the process of over-analyzing a situation, we are unable to fully be present and enjoy what is going on around us.

I have experienced this during my meditations where I receive a flash of insight often delivered as a mental download. I remember telling my mentor about one of the downloads I had. I told her that I wondered what it meant. She responded, don’t wonder! LOL.

There are some things in this world that our mortal minds will never be able to fully understand. We must accept the limitations of our minds. We need to let go of over-thinking and over-analyzing. We can free our minds from the guilt and anguish that stems from our inability to find answers. Some mental downloads, visions, events, destiny, or twists of fate, simply cannot be explained rationally. I think that just acknowledging that it’s okay not to know everything brings peace to the heart. We must just accept that it is what it is.  Have faith in higher powers bringing everything together if it’s meant to be and when the timing is right. Put your thoughts aside and just enjoy the present moment.

Stop over-analyzing everything and let the puzzle pieces fall into place!
